City Branding Kota Blitar

"Harmony of Patriot & Culture"

City Branding — Kota Blitar
City Identity Design · East Java, Indonesia

A bold and culturally rich city branding mark designed for Kota Blitar — the historic East Javanese city known as the resting place of Indonesia's founding father, Soekarno. The identity is anchored by a dominant script wordmark "Blitar" rendered in deep crimson red, with an expressive, hand-lettered quality that conveys civic pride and cultural energy. The fluid strokes carry a sense of motion and character — far removed from sterile municipal design.

Above the wordmark, a stylized architectural icon depicting the spire of a traditional Javanese temple or monument is set within sweeping arcs of green and orange — a subtle nod to both the city's heritage architecture and the natural landscape of East Java. The color palette is deliberate and meaningful: red for patriotism and courage, green for prosperity and nature, orange for warmth and optimism.

The supporting wordmark "Kota" is set in a lighter grey script, creating a comfortable visual hierarchy that lets "Blitar" command full attention. The tagline "Harmony of Patriot & Culture" grounds the identity in the city's dual narrative — its deep patriotic legacy and its rich Javanese cultural heritage.

A confident, place-specific identity that successfully translates local pride and historical significance into a cohesive, memorable civic brand.
