UI Illustration & App Design — Djava App

A warmly illustrated UI design for Djava App — a video-shared commerce platform built for and rooted in Javanese society, where traditional market culture meets the modern live-streaming commerce experience. The project's illustration work is its defining creative contribution: custom character illustrations that give the app a soul no stock asset library could provide.
The two onboarding screen illustrations depict a young Javanese woman in traditional brown attire — cap worn casually, batik-adjacent clothing grounding her in Javanese cultural identity — presented across two key states: the first screen shows her walking and waving, carrying a package, communicating the delivery and commerce dimension of the platform; the second shows her seated cross-legged with a market basket overflowing with colorful goods, hands open in a welcoming gesture — the pasar vendor reimagined as a content creator.
The illustration style is warm flat-vector with soft, earthy tones — golden browns, warm tans, and muted reds — a deliberate palette that evokes the warmth of Javanese craftsmanship and wayang visual heritage without resorting to literal cultural cliché. The characters are friendly, modern, and aspirational — a Javanese woman entrepreneur thriving in digital commerce.
The TV Streaming home screen on the right reveals the platform's channel ecosystem: Madyang, AKKINDO, Inspirasi Budaya, and other video content providers organized in a clean card grid with bottom navigation tabs — Videos, Store, Events, News — showing a full-featured commerce and content platform beneath the illustrated warmth.
An app design that earns trust from its audience by speaking their visual language — because the best products feel like they were made by someone who understands exactly who they're for.
