Audiary

Jakarta — July 18, 2019 — 03:42 — Audiary reduces the diary to its most honest form: your voice, the date, and nothing else.

App UI Design — Audiary

Mobile App · Audio Diary · Voice Journal

A strikingly minimal app UI for Audiary — an audio diary app that replaces the written journal with voice recordings, presented in one of the most compositionally confident single-screen designs in the portfolio.

The entire interface is a single recording screen: a soft lavender-purple gradient fills the display, a white waveform visualization pulses at center — alive, dynamic, the visual signature of a voice being captured. Below it, the timestamp: 03:42. Above it, the location and date: "Jakarta — July 18, 2019." A pause button at the bottom center, delete and save icons flanking it, and a minimal two-tab navigation at the base. That's everything. Nothing more is needed.

The design's restraint is its strongest statement. Most diary apps overwhelm with tags, categories, moods, and prompts. Audiary trusts the user to speak — and trusts the voice to carry everything a diary entry needs to contain. The lavender palette adds emotional warmth without sentimentality; the waveform is both functional indicator and expressive art object.

The in-hand iPhone mockup photographed against pure black gives the screen an intimate, almost cinematic quality — a private moment, held in a hand, in the dark.

An app designed around a single truth: sometimes the most honest thing you can do is just press record.
